1) Orgryte IS vs Qviding FIF (Swedish Division 1, 6PM)
The Goteborg derby gets underway this evening and it’s between two sides in Division 1 who really need to get some points on the board.  A win for Orgryte this evening will move them 9 points clear in 2nd place with just 3 games to play and will all but clinch their spot in the Superettan playoff.  But it will also move them within just 2 points of league leaders Uksikten and means there is still a chance of achieving automatic promotion instead.  Part of the reason Orgryte are in such a wonderful position is their form here at Valhalla.  They’ve played 10 games here at home this season, winning 8 of those and drawing the other 2 and 60% of their points have been collected on home soil.  They’ve won 4 on the bounce here now against 8th placed Halmia, 6th placed Norrby, 4th placed Motala and 12th placed Trolhattan and today they can make that 5 and move a step closer to promotion with a win over their local rivals, 10th placed Qviding.  The visitors sit ominously just outside of the relegation zone, 3 points clear of the drop at present.  A run of 3 straight wins for Qviding was ended on Friday evening as Norrby came to town and ruined the party, but that little run has improved the confidence of a side who previously looked destined for the drop.  Of their 4 remaining games they only really need to collect 6 points and will certainly be targeting an away trip to bottom side and already relegated Uddevalla at the weekend as well as a 6-pointer against Kristianstad on the final day.  A 3-4 away win in their last away game back in September was a very decent result against Lund who sit 3rd in the table so this side is capable of an upset for sure.  But that win came after 3 successive 1-0 away losses and Qviding haven’t won back to back away games since 2012.  I’d really like to think they have a chance here as I love an underdog, but against a side who are this dominant at home and have goalscorers in abundance with the likes of Hedman, Carlsson, Ingvarsson and Lindstrom, I really don’t see any other result but a home win.
SAFE BET: Orgryte to win at 8/15
MEDIUM BET: Orgryte -1.0 Asian handicap at 1.950
RISKY BET: Orgryte HT/FT at 13/10

2) Dundalk vs Shamrock Rovers (Irish Premier League, 7:05PM)
We get underway slightly early in Ireland tonight as two top 4 sides prepare to grace the Irish TV screens and battle for a spot in Europe and the title.  Dundalk are the league leaders and are aiming to clinch their first title since 1995 and though they currently sit level on points with 2nd placed Cork they have a far superior goal difference and have this game in hand in order to extend that lead to 3 points.  Crazily, this will be the 8th meeting between the two clubs this season having met in the Setanta Cup, the League Cup, the Premier League and the FAI Cup and results have been a bit of a mixed bag.  The last time the two met here was in a 3-2 win for Dundalk only 3 weeks ago in the League Cup, but that win wasn’t enough for them to progress.  Instead, their focus is now solely on winning the title and with 2 of their last 3 games here at Oriel Park they have a damn decent chance of achieving that.  Dundalk’s home form in the league this season has been simply incredible and if they were to clinch their first title in 19 years, it will be the home support who have played a huge part in that achievement.  Their record here this season is played 14, won 11, drawn 3 lost 0 and they will be looking to build on that tonight against a Shamrock side who’s hopes of a spot in Europe are hanging by a thread.  Rovers sit 7 points adrift of 3rd placed St Pats and having been knocked out of the FAI Cup by Derry last weekend it’s looking as though they will have to settle for nothing in terms of silverware this year, something they are pretty used to by now.  Shamrock are the “nearly side” and always seem to finish 4th or 5th in the league and that pattern looks set to repeat itself this season.  Rovers have a difficult away game at Drogheda next time out before hosting Limerick and though these are two sides who are playing for nothing, it’s likely that Rovers will be too if they come out of this game with a loss.  Dundalk manager Stephen Kelly welcomed back captain Stephen O’Donnell for a short spell against Athlone Town at the weekend and it’s likely the leader could feature again tonight which is a huge boost at this time of the season.  Meanwhile David McMillan (ST, 22, 7) will definitely be missing following surgery on an ankle ligament.  Shamrock boss Pat Fenlon on the other hand will be without the services of Barry Murphy (GK, 28, 0), David O’Conner (DF, 6, 1), Stephen McPhail (MF, 17, 0) and Dean Kelly (ST, 14, 4).  I expect Dundalk to win this match on home soil where they are so dominant and with that win they can move within inches of the title.  Rovers will be no pushover there’s no doubt about it, but I have to back the home side here.
SAFE BET: Dundalk 0.0, -0.5 Asian Handicap at 1.475
MEDIUM BET: Dundalk -0.5, -1.0 Asian Handicap at 1.900
RISKY BET: Dundalk -1.5 Asian Handicap at 3.000

3) Wales vs Cyprus (Euro 2016 Qualifier, 7:45PM)
Well who would have thought that 2 games in we’d be seeing Wales at the top of Group B in Euro qualification.  Yes, they’ve played more games than the likes of Belgium but let’s not take this away from them, a win and a draw in their opening 2 games have been decent results and you have to bear in mind that this side will massively improve over the next year or so as well.  Remember that they’ve achieved these results without the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen who will still be missing for Coleman’s side tonight, but there are no new injury concerns to worry about.  It was a hard fought draw against Bosnia last time out but it was a welcomed point for Coleman and you have to remember that Bosnia made it to the World Cup finals, they’re no mugs with the likes of Besic and Dzeko of course.  Tonight though, the Welsh face off against a Cypriot side who sit 56 places below them in the rankings and when this group was announced Coleman would have earmarked this as a must win game.  Cyprus started their campaign with an impressive 1-2 win in Bosnia but that really doesn’t tell the whole story.  Bosnia out-attacked Cyprus 3:1 in that game and were absolutely dominant but still lost somehow and that has to be written down as a freak result for me.  That win against Bosnia was their first in qualifying since a 1-0 win over Iceland in 2012, 19 games ago!  These two sides haven’t met since 2007 so there is really little benefit in comparing head to head form, though it may be worth noting that Wales have won both of their previous meetings at home to Cyprus.  This Welsh side is a dangerous underdog in Group B I feel and with the likes of Bale leading the team, he could well guide them to qualification, providing he can stay fit.  I fancy Wales to get another 3 points on the board tonight and continue their reign as Group B leaders.
SAFE BET: Wales to win at 9/20
MEDIUM BET: Wales -1 Asian Handicap at 1.750
RISKY BET: Bale to Score First and Wales to win at 9/4
