18/11/2014 – Diamond Treble

Afternoon all!  A disappointing day yesterday as England threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2.  Those on the safe treble would have still seen some return but we were inches away from everything and never really got the big boom we were looking for!  But today is a new day and it’s time to get back on track.  I’m going to swerve full time results in the international friendlies despite their dominance in today’s fixture list as anything can happen in those so I’ve been digging elsewhere for diamonds!

The treble is placed with Bet365 who offer the widest coverage of games and markets out there.  They also offer up to £200 in bonuses when you register HERE.

Don’t forget, if you like what you see here then there’s plenty more where this comes from.  We have a massive selection of tips every day across a range of sports both pre game and in play from our team of 6 tipsters. 1) Eastbourne Borough vs Hayes & Yeading (Conference South, 7:45PM)
With these two sides sitting in mid-table, on the face of it this game looks like a pretty even affair.  But when you consider that Eastbourne Borough have won just 1 of their last 10 games in the English Conference South it’s pretty difficult to see past the value in the away side getting something from this.  Eastbourne’s problem has been their inability to put games to bed and with 4 draws and a loss in their last 5 games Tommy Widdrington’s men are slipping down the table and currently sit 12th of 21 teams.  The last time they played here at Priory Lane they were thumped 1-4 by high flying Bromley but they have failed to score just once at home this season and look very decent for a goal tonight.  That being said, they welcome Hayes & Yeading who sit just 1 point above them in the table but boast one of the best away records in the division.  They’re coached by former Liverpool man Phil Babb and though times have been tough lately, he’s recently acquired the services of Jack Mills who returns to the club after a spell at Wealdstone and is a versatile midfielder that could well help their cause.  He’s also resigned keeper Grant Smith and added to his squad with 19-year old Welsh full-back Mason Spence who looks to be a decent youngster.  Babb’s side also suffered a defeat to Bromley at the weekend losing 1-2 in a close encounter on home soil, but as I mentioned before, it’s on the road where they have really been shining this year.  Their only loss away from home came against Basingstoke back in August and since then they are undefeated in 5 straight away games, although they have both scored and conceded in all of those games.  The safe bet here looks to be going for goals but I do fancy Hayes & Yeading to get something out of this.  It could well end a 1-1 draw if I was making a prediction so though the safe bet would point to a void on that theory, at least it’s not pointing to a loss.
SAFE BET: Over 2.0 Goal Line at 1.425
MEDIUM BET: Both Teams to Score at 8/11
RISKY BET: Both Teams to Score & Draw at 7/2

2) Bala Town vs Prestatyn Town (Welsh League Cup, 7:45PM)
If you want goals this evening then look no further than the Welsh League Cup semi-final between Bala Town and Prestatyn Town.  On paper Bala should cruise this but having already shared a 3-3 draw in the league this season and losing 2-4 in their last meeting here with Prestatyn it’s hard to back them at the price they’re at.  That being said, Prestatyn’s away form makes for incredible reading this season.  Away from home they have played 7 games in all competitions this season, losing 6 of those 7 and conceding 3 or more goals in ALL 7 GAMES!  On the road this season their games have averaged 4.86 goals per game and tonight their shocking defence heads to a Bala Town side who have been scoring for shits and giggles as of late.  Bala have scored 8 goals in their last 2 home games and have failed to score just twice this season (against the top 2).  Their games here at Maes Tegid have averaged 4.00 goals per game bringing the combined average of these two sides to 4.43 goals.  With a League Cup final awaiting the winner I’m expecting both of these sides to go for this with the knowledge that it will probably be TNS who await but also knowing that this could be the only chance of silverware for both of them this year.  Just get on goals here, it looks like it could be any scoreline!
SAFE BET: Over 2.5 Goals at 4/9
MEDIUM BET: Over 3.5 Goal Line at 2.025
RISKY BET: Over 4.5 Goal Line at 3.200

3) Scotland vs England (International Friendly, 8PM)
I know I said I wouldn’t be backing someone to win a friendly earlier and I’m not, but it would just be rude not to include the fixture that everyone is talking about today as Scotland and England meet at Celtic Park.  Both sides come into this game brimming with confidence.  Hodgson’s men have now won every game since their humiliating World Cup effort meanwhile the Strachan’s Scots have given Germany and Poland a run for their money in recent months before beating Ireland at the weekend.  Of course there will be changes tonight, you’d expect nothing less.  Fraser Forster could well start at the home of his old club between the sticks for the Three Lions meanwhile Barkley and Berahino could well start this evening for England meanwhile Gordon Strachan is also expected to make changes to the side who faced Ireland at the weekend.  There’s a few things I’m expecting from this game and they are goals, cards and corners.  For the goals, well a 3-2 meeting at Wembley last year certainly acts as a yardstick for my assumption there.  England have been quite tight defensively as of late but a dodgy concession against Slovenia showed their frailty which can creep up now and again.  I’m expecting changes at the back this evening which could well mean inexperience and many of these players will be fringe players who are looking for a place in the squad therefore creating some options up front.  Cards, well let’s be honest, as “friendly” as this is billed to be, it’s one of the oldest rivalries in the world and you simply have to expect that to have an effect.  Jonas Eriksson is the referee and the Swede doesn’t usually take any prisoners.  He reffed Romania against Northern Ireland last week showing 4 cards and he’s shown 3 or more in 6 of his last 7 in all competitions.  When the two met at Wembley last year there were 3 cards between them and with new inexperienced players it’s likely that some rash challenges will be made.  The final part is to include corners in the mix.  England racked up 9 against Slovenia at the weekend and have achieved an average of 8.6 corners per game in their 5 games since the World Cup.  It’s normally at home where I back England for corners but let’s remember here that Scotland isn’t exactly a world away and with England’s new style of play with pacey wingers I’m expecting them to easily cover the 6.5 line set tonight.
SAFE BET: Over 2.0 Goal Line at 1.675
MEDIUM BET: Over 3.0 Asian Cards at 1.850
RISKY BET: Over 2.5 Goals & Over 3.0 Asian Cards & England Over 6.5 Team Corners at 15/2
